Radiofrequency Microneedling
Radiofrequency micro needling (RFM) is a new technology that uses very fine, sharp needles that penetrate an exact depth into the deeper layers of the skin, and delivers an exact amount of radiofrequency. This stimulates the cells to produce collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin, leading to remodelling of the skin. Unlike lasers, RFM is safer for all skin types, in particular darker skin types, as the risk of scarring and Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation is greatly reduced. This has been confirmed by many studies worldwide. RFM has widespread uses in treating acne/surgical scarring, enlarged pores, skin laxity from UV damage, mild to moderate acne vulgaris, and some cases of stretch marks. Studies have shown that in most people, a total of 2 to 6 treatments, up to 4 or 6 weeks apart is required to achieve results. Theres is usually a couple of days of redness and discomfort, but on the whole is much better tolerated than laser. Not all micro needling devices are created equal, and the Lutronic Genius is currently one of the better tolerated ones on the market which delivers consistent results. All our practitioners are trained to use it. We recommend you come in and speak to us about a plan that would suit you best.
